Testing Anxiety - It's A Real Thing.

Let's talk about testing anxiety.


I hear a lot in the industry about how much nerves negatively impact performance on passing tests. I have heard so many people say that they can write realtime well when they are calm, but when it comes to tests, forget it! The brain seems to freeze and lock up, hesitation takes root in the brain, and it's all downhill (or really uphill if you think about it!) from there. Your brain and your hands lose their connection, and your fingers begin to feel like lead (or wet noodles!)


If you know, you KNOW!


I didn't have to go far to realize this out either as I know exactly what others are talking about and have experienced it myself. Testing anxiety is a very real thing and manifests itself in reality by failed test scores which can bring about discouragement, disappointment, more anxiety....and it's just a vicious cycle.


I wanted to take more mock tests but didn't have the $$$ to spend on taking them over and over just waiting for a pass. I mean, who does!?


But I also like variety and was searching for a new way to practice, but I felt like I was stuck in the same routine.


So I started creating my own mock tests.


Now, I have created modules of mock CRC exams. And I am continuing to add new modules to the Mindful Audio Focus digital library. Each module comes with 5 complete tests at about 5 minutes @ 180 wpm. I also provide full PDF transcripts so that you can go over and check your errors, see where you are dropping, and add words to your dictionary.


Sure, there are other programs/dictations out there to help with practice, but with each module I have also manipulated the audio in a way that helps build speed and accuracy but also memory, focus, retention, and comprehension in a new way.
